A STATEMENT OF HOPE

FROM THOM BOGUE

Let us get something straight, shall we? We are not mere individuals living in isolation, but rather independent human beings intricately connected in a society that feels like a tax farm. We find ourselves tired of always being the first ones taxed and the last ones considered. But, there is hope. Together, we can restore the values we hold dear.

In this moment, it is crucial to remember that our power lies not in "I," but in "we". It is we, the people, who have the ability to shape our society, to demand change, and to create a better future. By standing united in our purpose, we can reclaim the principles that made our nation great. We feel moments of despair in the direction we as a society are going. We must understand we created this, in how we voted and who we voted into office. Only we can change it again, by not just checking the box next to a party line on the ballot, but by paying attention to those running and in how their ideals match ours regardless of party.

Now, you may wonder, how can we achieve such a feat? The answer lies in working together, in fostering a sense of community and collaboration. It is through our collective efforts that we can bring about the change we desire. We must set aside our differences and recognize our shared values.

To restore the values we cherish, we must start by engaging in open and respectful dialogue. We must listen to one another. We should understand that diversity of opinions is the cornerstone of progress. By embracing this concept we can find innovative solutions to the challenges we face. Remember, it is through creative thinking and open-mindedness that we can forge a path towards a brighter future.

We have to hold our elected officials accountable. Politicians have a responsibility to represent our interests and restore the values we cherish. We, as the people, have the power to demand transparency, fairness, and integrity from those who govern us. By exercising our democratic rights, we can ensure that our voices are heard, and our concerns are addressed. We must remember that progress should benefit all members of our society, not just a chosen few.

In conclusion, the time has come to reclaim our place as a free independent people, tired of being the first taxed and the last considered in how those taxes are spent. Together, we can restore the values we cherish. Let us remember, it is not "I" the people, but "we" the people, who hold the power to bring about the change we seek.

Thank you.
